Lords of the Underground: Here Come the Lords
LP Record Lords Of The Underground (L.O.T.U.G.) is a hip-hop trio from Newark, New Jersey, featuring MCs Mr. Funke, Dupré "Doitall" Kelly, and Cleveland native DJ Lord Jazz, who met at university. A friend introduced them to legendary producer and radio host Marley Marl, and together with him and K-Def, they laid the foundations for their 1993 debut album "Here Come The Lords", which celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2018. Although their name might suggest violent gangsta rap, Lords Of The Underground combine socially conscious rapping with funky drum breaks, samples, and hard-hitting beats.

LP Record The Dutch symphonic metal band Delain was founded in 2002 by keyboardist Martijn Westerholt (Eye of Melian and ex-Within Temptation). At that time, it was a musical project featuring singer Charlotte Wessels and a number of guest musicians. Their debut album, "Lucidity", released in September 2006 via Roadrunner Records, featured a host of well-known musicians from the metal scene: Marco Hietala (ex-Nightwish and Tarot) on vocals and bass guitar, Ad Sluijter (ex-Epica), Guus Eikens (Orphanage) and Jan Yrlund (Imperia) on guitars, and Ariën van Weesenbeek (ex-God Dethroned and Epica) on drums. Guest vocalists on the album include Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Liv Kristine (Leaves' Eyes) and George Oosthoek (Orphanage, MaYan).

LP Record What happens when an industrial millionaire, a professional gambler, and a member of the Swiss national golf team meet? Dieter Meier, an heir-turned-conceptual artist, teamed up with Boris Blank in the late seventies to form the electronic synthesiser group Yello, but it wasn't until the late eighties that they found success with the international hit "The Race", which was used in adverts and sports programmes all over the world. Samples and beats met Meier's deep voice, and Yello became experts at combining the subtle and the eclectic. "Flag" from 1988 features the hit "The Race" and experiments with Afro-Cuban rhythms like "Tied Up".
