Why take Vitamin B12?
Vitamin B12 is needed for proper cognitive function, nervous system function, immunity support, red blood cell production and overall vitality. Vitamin B12 is found in animal products, especially meat and offal. Therefore, vitamin B12 deficiency is a risk for people who limit or avoid animal products altogether. Manifestations of deficiency
Vitamin B12 deficiency is especially dangerous on a vegan diet, i.e. people who do not eat meat, fish, dairy products or eggs. Vegans should therefore take vitamin B12 as a dietary supplement. A deficiency of vitamin B12 results in disturbances in the formation of cells in the bone marrow, which manifests itself as a special form of anaemia - it can manifest itself in pale skin, weakness and fatigue, headaches, heart palpitations or shortness of breath.
Benefits of vitamin B12 in combination with B6 and B9
- The product contains three forms of water-soluble vitamin B12. Cyanocobalamin, which is further metabolized into coenzyme variants, and methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin the only two natural bioactive forms of vitamin B12.
- Methylcobalamin works closely with folic acid (vitamin B9) to protect blood, nerves and DNA. Adenosylcobalamin is involved in the production of energy in the mitochondria.
- The preparation is fortified with vitamin B6, because its possible deficiency in the body impairs the absorption of vitamin B12. It is also fortified with vitamin B9, because a deficiency of vitamin B12 leads to a deficiency of this vitamin.
