The Marantz CD5005 CD player is full of improvements that will provide you a slightly better sound. It can handle CDs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs as well as compressed MP3 and WMA files. Its key advantage is the improved reproduction of high quality media. It achieves this with high-end components such as the renowned CS4398 D / A converter or a brand new drive. Both borrow from the higher model CD6005. Economical users will consequently enjoy reduced standby power consumption.
Audio EX(clusive) also enhances the sound quality by turning off various functions that are not being used, such as digital output and playback speed control. Gold-plated analogue cinch connectors therefore minimize the quality loss on the contacts when transmitting the signal to the amplifier. Equipped with this streamlined headphone output, an easy-to-read display and an innovative remote control complete this audio-player.
Marantz has developed its own discrete PCBs replacing standard integrated circuits. These HDAMs are composed of discrete components with short and mirrored paths of the right and left channels. It performs the same function as an operational amplifier with common integrated circuits, but, very often overcomes them in terms of overcurrent and noise suppression, which is reflected in a much more dynamic, accurate and detailed performance.
In order to achieve the best performance, the signal paths must be short, direct and mirror-symmetrical. The design of Marantz CD players ensures improved stereo image with almost perfect alignment of left and right channel configurations.
