ToP-ART Construction and Stable Chassis
The foundation of the A-S701's sound is the ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) concept, which is based on simple, direct signal transmission and a symmetrical I/O layout. The left and right channels are routed as directly as possible to reduce the risk of noise and distortion. The ART (Anti-Resonance and Tough) Base, along with a solid centre bar, increases rigidity and helps to dampen vibrations. The amplifier uses high-quality components, such as a custom-made power transformer, block capacitors, and extruded aluminium heat sinks. The result is a stable, musical performance and good control over the speakers, even at higher volumes.
Connectivity for Modern and Classic Sources
The A-S701 is ready for a wide range of signal sources. For analogue setups, it offers 5× RCA/Cinch inputs and 1× Phono MM for a turntable. For digital sources, there is 1× optical input for audio from a television and 1× coaxial input, typically for a player. Also included is an output for an active subwoofer, which will help supplement the system with deeper bass. Thanks to the A/B speaker outputs, you can easily switch between two pairs of speakers or run them simultaneously. The amplifier is also ready for connection to a YBA-11 Bluetooth adapter for wireless streaming.
Controls and Signal Purity of the YAMAHA A-S701 HiFi Amplifier
The front panel features analogue controls for volume, bass, treble, loudness, balance, and source selection. For situations where you want the purest possible signal path, there is a Pure Direct mode, which bypasses some of the circuitry and shortens the signal route.
